St. Louis (June 8, 2012) – Returning home from the season’s longest road trip, the Cardinals are back at Busch for their first glimpse of the American League in interleague play. The 9-game homestand features 3-game sets with the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and cross-state rivals, Kansas City Royals. Fans can take advantage of great games and activities throughout the homestand including the Ritz Kickoff to Summer Weekend, Cardinals Block Party and Pooches in the Ballpark.

 

Friday, June 8, 2012 — Cardinals vs. Cleveland Indians (7:15 p.m.)

 

  • Fireworks Night: Peabody Energy is proud to present Fireworks Night at Busch Stadium. Bring the entire family to watch the Cards take on the Indians in interleague play, and stay in your seat after the game to watch a dazzling fireworks display against the St. Louis skyline.

 

  • Busch Bash Friday: Enjoy live music, prizes and autographs in the Ford Plaza from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The first 200 fans to line up at the Busch Bash entrance (Gate 5), starting at 4:45 p.m., will be given guaranteed autograph line tickets for Cardinals left-handed reliever Marc Rzepczynski. Saturday, June 9, 2012 — Cardinals vs. Cleveland Indians (6:15 p.m.)

 

  • Kickoff to Summer Block Party: There’s a Block Party next to Busch this weekend, and you’re invited. Whether you plan on catching the Cardinals game or just want to kick off your weekend with some family fun, come enjoy live music from Griffin and the Gargoyles, food and drinks, stilt-walkers, jugglers, magicians, inflatables for the kids and more. Have a drink at the Budweiser Build-a-Bar, eat a snack at the Hardee’s Mobile Diner and recycle your waste at the Coke Recycling Education Vehicle. Sunday, June 10, 2012 — Cardinals vs. Cleveland Indians (1:15 p.m.)

 

  • Pitch, Hit and Run: The Cardinals are hosting the Team Championship round of MLB’s annual Pitch, Hit and Run Competition. The top 12 boy and top 12 girl qualifiers from Cardinal Nation will compete in three categories Sunday morning at Busch Stadium – The Pitch, The Hit and The Run –in hopes of advancing to the National Finals at the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Kids Lunch Cooler Bag Day: Ticketed- fans ages 15 and younger will receive a lunch cooler bag – perfect for summer camps and classes – compliments of Powerade and Shop ‘n Save.
  • MLBPAA Auction: The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will conduct a baseball-themed silent auction inside Gate 3 from the time gates open through the seventh inning.   • Rawlings Replay Collection: Fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used baseball and softball equipment at special bins conveniently located at each entrance to the stadium, as part of “Rawlings Replay.” Established in 2011, “Rawlings Replay,” supports Redbird Rookies, the flagship program of Cardinals Care, which provides disadvantaged youth with the opportunity to play baseball for free, as well as a variety of other support services.

 

  • Cardinals Care Stadium Auction: Fans have the unique opportunity to bid on exclusive autographed Cardinals memorabilia at the game. The auction is a great way for fans and collectors alike to obtain specialty Cardinals items while helping to support the programs that Cardinals Care provides to youth in the community. The auction tables will be located at Gate 3, on the first baseline concourse, Cardinals Club, Redbird Club and in section 452 of the Terrace level.

 

Wednesday, June 13, 2012 — Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox (7:15 p.m.)

 

  • Ice Mountain Autograph Night: Fans, ages 20 and under, can get autographs from current players before the game from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:15, all fans can get autographs from Cardinals alumni.

 

  • Fox Sports Telecast from UMB Champions Club: Fox Sports Midwest will bring their telecast from the booth to the fans when they broadcast live from the UMB Champions Club located on the second level of the stadium! Fans with Champions Club tickets can stop by and watch as Jim Hayes, Cal Eldred, Dan McLaughlin and Al Hrabosky call the game.

Thursday, June 14, 2012 — Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox (7:15 p.m.)

 

  • Battle at Busch: Busch Stadium is proud to host the Battle at Busch in conjunction with Mozingo Music and 105.7 The Point. The 2012 schedule features 15 local bands over the course of five nights, at five different Cardinals’ home games out in Ford Plaza. Tonight’s battle features Emmaus Band, We Live In Public and Between The Rivers. Bands begin performing 20 minutes after the gates open with each act given 20 minutes to perform. Each band will be judged on a point system by Mozingo Music and 105.7 The Point. The top three scoring bands of the summer will be invited back to play on October 2nd in the “Battle At Busch” finals for the grand prize package consisting of a $1,057 store credit to Mozingo Music, an in-studio interview on 105.7 The Point, and the special opportunity to take the field before a Cardinals home game for a ceremony and the opportunity to throw out an honorary pitch.

 

  • The Freshest Beer in St. Louis: During today’s game, fans can cool off with the freshest beer in St. Louis! Day- fresh beer will be available at the Budweiser Bowtie Bar and at any “Bottoms Up” beer stands throughout Busch. Enjoy an ice cold Budweiser beer brewed the same day you drink it!

St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival (Friday, June 15 – Sunday, June 17)

The Brewers are coming to Ballpark Village. No, not those Brewers; Brewmasters from St. Louis area breweries! Watch the Cards take on the Indians, and then check out the brewers at the St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival. With unlimited samples of over 80 beers from 15 local breweries, gourmet food (available for purchase) and live music, a good time is sure to be had. Tickets are $30.00 in advance with a limited number available on the day of the festival for $35.00. The event will take place in the Ballpark Village lot across from Busch Stadium. The Cardinals currently have six leaders at their positions: Lance Berkman (2nd), Rafael Furcal (2nd), David Freese (2nd), Yadier Molina (1st), Carlos Beltran (2nd) and Matt Holliday (6th).

 

Saturday, June 16, 2012 — Cardinals vs. Kansas City Royals (1:15 p.m.)

  • High School Seniors All-Star Baseball Game: Join us for Delta Dental's second annual Coaches' Choice High School Seniors All-Star baseball game. Coached by Cardinals alumni, Scott Cooper and Kerry Robinson, players from over 30 St. Louis-area high schools will take the field after the Cards battle the Royals. The game is free to all. Delta Dental will also hold a raffle to benefit Cardinals Care, Give Kids A Smile and Delta Dental Health Theatre organizations.   • PNC High School Showcase: The top high school players from the Metro St. Louis area will compete at Busch Stadium in the 3rd Annual PNC Bank High School Baseball Showcase presented by Rawlings. The All-Star game, featuring select graduating seniors from both sides of the river, will play a Missouri vs. Illinois All-Star game beginning at 1:15 p.m. Fans can come early and catch a homerun derby and skills competition beginning at 10:00 a.m. Admission is free. Former Cardinal and current ESPN Radio personality Chris Duncan will join fan favorite and Cardinal’s assistant batting Coach John Mabry as a team manager. Cardinals draft choice and son of Manager Mike Matheny, Tate Matheny, is one of many talented high-schoolers on the 2012 PNC High School Showcase roster.

Ready to Vote Cardinals? The 2012 All-Star Game MLB.com Ballot is now available! Fans can vote online to send their favorite Cardinals to the 2012 MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City, Missouri. Eight Cardinals players are on the ballot including: Carlos Beltran, Lance Berkman, David Freese, Rafael Furcal, Tyler Greene, Matt Holliday, Jon Jay and Yadier Molina. Fans can vote a total of 25 times online at MLB.com and from mobile devices until Thursday, June 28 at 11:59 p.m. (EDT). Ballots are also available at Busch Stadium where fans can vote until Friday, June 15.

Cardinals Green Team

Last year, as part of the “4 A Greener Game” initiative, The Cardinals Green Team diverted over 535 tons of materials from local landfills. The Green Team is a group of volunteers who walk down the aisles of the seating bowl in-between innings collecting recyclables from fans and promoting recycling at Busch Stadium. In exchange for their services, volunteers are able to watch the game in standing room only sections of Busch Stadium, as collections are only done in-between innings and during pitching changes so as not to disturb fans trying to watch the game. Cave Dwelling – Be Sure to Cast Your Vote for our Cardinals Cave Dweller Kyle Thompson!

Entering its second year, the redesigned MLB Fan Cave hosts fan events, concerts, MLB player and celebrity appearances, as well as nine Cave Dwellers who are attempting to watch every game of the 2012 MLB season while. The voucher may be redeemed for tickets 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game. The tickets may be anywhere in the park, depending on availability.

 

  • Dynamic Deals of the Week: The Cardinals’ value-based dynamic pricing system allows them to offer outstanding ticket savings to fans throughout the season. Special values will be highlighted each Monday as part of the “Dynamic Deals of the Week” promotion. Since the launch of dynamic pricing last season, 80% of games were priced lower in 2011 than 2010, with two-thirds of the games having tickets priced for $10 or less. A third of the games had tickets available for only $5. Cardinals in the Community

Cardinals Care, the team’s charitable foundation, is celebrating 15-years of supporting children.  Since 1997 Cardinals Care has invested nearly $18 million in “Caring for Kids” both on and off the baseball field.  Cardinals Care has provided nearly $11 million in grants to over 800 non-profit youth organizations and built 19 youth ball fields in local disadvantaged neighborhoods. 

 

Cardinals Care also runs Redbird Rookies, a free baseball league for kids who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play. In addition to providing all the uniforms, gloves, bats, balls and other equipment needed for each team, Redbird Rookies also provides extensive off-field support in the areas of health, education, mentoring and the cultural arts for each of the nearly 4,500 kids who participate in the program each year. The organization holds several events throughout the homestand:

  • Cardinals Care 6k: Registration is now open for the third annual “Cardinals Care 6K” set for Sunday, September 16th.  This year, in addition to the 6k – which has a lower fundraising minimum – fans can participate in a One Mile Fun Run. Over the last 2 years, Cardinals Care has raised more than $300,000 through this event to help kids in our community. Those interested in participating are encouraged to learn more and register at cardinals.com/6K.
