Southpaw roadtrip to St. Louis

The Chicago White Sox beloved mascot Southpaw is heading south on Interstate 55 for the team’s upcoming three-game interleague series vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.  While in the Gateway City, Southpaw will visit popular city attractions – including the St. Louis Science Center, Grant’s Farm, The Magic House, among many more – and participate in interactive activities at each stop.  Southpaw will visit Busch Stadium, where the White Sox will take on the Cardinals this Tuesday through Thursday.  On his way south, Southpaw also will visit the state capitol in Springfield.

Fans will have an opportunity to weigh in on Southpaw’s itinerary by following his adventures on Facebook and Twitter.  Facebook fans can vote on Southpaw’s activities at certain stops, while Twitter followers can keep up with the entire trip by following Southpaw and the White Sox via @Southpaw and @WhiteSox, using the hashtag #SoxRoadTrip.

Southpaw is scheduled to make an appearance at the White Sox/Cardinals game on Tuesday, June 12, where he will join the Cardinals mascot Fredbird for various in-game activities.  Prior to the game, White Sox fans attending the contest will have a chance to “tweet up” with Southpaw at a to-be-determined location.

This is Southpaw’s second career road trip – having ventured in 2010 to Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. during a White Sox road trip to root on the team, visit unique attractions and spend time with his mascot friends.
