28 Players Selected in the 2012 Draft Agree to Terms
12 of the Clubs First 14 Selections Agree
DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has agreed to terms with 28 players selected in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, including each of the clubs first six selections.
The Rockies have agreed to terms with the following players: OF David Dahl (1st, Oak Mountain HS), RHP Eddie Butler (supplemental 1st, Radford), OF Max White (2nd, Williston HS), C Tom Murphy (3rd, Buffalo), RHP Ryan Warner (supplemental 3rd, Pine Creek HS), RHP Seth Willoughby (4th, Xavier), C Wilfredo Rodriguez (7th, P.R. Baseball Academy), OF Derek Jones (8th, Washington St.), RHP Zach Jemiola (9th, Great Oak HS), 1B Ben Waldrip (10th, Jacksonville St.), RHP Trevor Oakes (11th, Minnesota), 1B Correlle Prime (12th, Manatee HS), RHP Shane Broyles (14th, Texas Tech), RHP Scott Oberg (15th, Connecticut), OF Jeff Popick (16th, Colorado Mesa), INF Jason Stolz (17th, Clemson), INF Kyle Newton (19th, Florida Atlantic), LHP Anthony Seise (20th, West Orange HS), RHP Rayan Gonzalez (21st, Bethune-Cookman), RHP Jordan Mejia (22nd, Riverside CC), RHP Andrew Brown (23rd, Akron), LHP Michael Mason (24th, Marshall), INF Alec Mehrten (25th, Fresno Pacific), RHP Justin Arrowood (28th, Appalachian St.), 2B Patrick Hutcheson (29th, Fresno St.), RHP Shawn Stuart (31st, Long Beach St.), OF Ryan Garvey (33rd, Riverside CC) and C Chris Cowell (34th, Richmond).
Overall, the Rockies have signed 14 pitchers, six infielders, five outfielders and three catchers. Of the 14 pitchers, two are left-handed and 12 are right-handed. Additionally, the Rockies have signed undrafted free agent Zac Osborne, a shortstop out of the University of Tennessee.
