Blue Jays option RHP Joel Carreno to Las Vegas

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have optioned RHP JOEL CARRENO to Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) and tomorrow, June 22, RHP DAVID PAULEY will be added to the roster.

CARRENO, 25, is 0-2 in six games, two starts this season for the Blue Jays and has posted an ERA of 6.60.  The 6-0, 215lb. right-handed pitcher started on June 20 in Milwaukee.  Carreno has started 11 games in the minors this season posting a 3-6 record with a 5.24 ERA while pitching for New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA) and Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).

PAULEY, 29, was claimed on waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on June 20 and will report to the team tomorrow in Miami.  In five relief appearances for the Angels this season he has posted a 0-1 record with a 4.35 ERA.  The 6-2, 215 lb. right-handed pitcher has also appeared in nine games with five starts for the Salt Lake Bees of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) this season, he was 2-0 with a 1.76 ERA.  He owns a career record of 9-19 in 86 games, 20 starts with a 4.51 ERA.
