Twins to select the contract of Sam Deduno

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will select the contract of right-handed pitcher Sam Deduno from Triple-A Rochester prior to tomorrow's game in Texas.  In nine starts for the Red Wings this season, Deduno went 1-2, 2.14 ERA (42.0 ip, 10 er) with 22 walks and 46 strikeouts for the Red Wings.  Deduno, who will wear uniform number 21, is scheduled to start for the Twins Saturday night vs. Texas.

To make room for Deduno on the 25-man roster, the Twins optioned Chris Parmelee to Triple-A Rochester.

The Twins now have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
