Padres recall RHP Nick Vincent from Triple-A Tucson; option RHP Miles Mikolas

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced they have recalled right-handed pitcher Nick Vincent from Triple-A Tucson and have optioned right-handed pitcher Miles Mikolas to the same Tucson club. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Vincent, 26, has made four relief appearances with the Padres, including his Big League debut on June 26. He earned his first Major League win after 1.0 inning of work June 28 at Houston. In 21 games between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Tucson this season, he has gone 2-1 with a 5.57 ERA (13 ER/21.0 IP) and 26 strikeouts against eight walks, including 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA (2 ER/9.2 IP) and 15 strikeouts against no walks and just four hits allowed in his nine outings for the Missions.

Mikolas, 23, made his Major League debut for the Padres May 5 against the Miami Marlins at Petco Park. In 15 relief outings for the Padres, the right-hander has gone 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA (7 ER/16.1 IP), a .233 (14-for-60) opponents batting average and 14 strikeouts against 11 walks.
