ATLANTA – The Florida State League Hall of Fame Committee announced recently that Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez and minor league field coordinator Dave Trembley will be inducted into the Florida State League Hall of Fame as part of the 2012 class.

Gonzalez is in his second season as the Braves’ major league field manager and has 30 years of professional baseball experience, including six years (2011-present with Atlanta, 2007-2010 with Florida) as a major league manager. He led the Braves to an 89-73 record in 2011, his first season with the Club, after becoming the Marlins all-time winningest manager with 279 victories. Gonzalez managed Miami of the Florida State League from 1990-91 and Brevard County from 1994-95. He was named Florida State League Manager of the Year in 1994 after a second-place finish.

Trembley, in his second season with the Braves organization, is the Club’s minor league field coordinator. Trembley has 27 years of experience in professional baseball, including four seasons (2007-10) as manager of the Baltimore Orioles. He was manager of the Daytona Cubs from 1995-96 and was named Florida State League Manager of the Year in 1995 after winning the FSL Championship that season.

The 2012 Florida State League Hall of Fame class includes 13 inductees; pitchers Jeff Suppan and Bob Tewksbury, position players Elliot Bigelow, Lloyd Moseby and Lou Whitaker, managers Fredi Gonzalez, Dave Huppert and Dave Trembley, executives Sonny Hirsch, Ken Carson, Jay Miller and Al E. Lang, and umpire Brian Gorman.

The induction ceremony will take place on November 13, 2012 at the Plaza Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach, Florida.
