Registration now open for Phillies blood drive on August 18
Critical need for donors; Free “Chooch” t-shirt among perks
Philadelphia – Fans are invited to help save lives at one of the biggest Philadelphia blood drives of the year.
On Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., the Phillies will be teaming up with the American Red Cross to host the 8th Annual Phillies Blood Drive in the Hall of Fame Club at Citizens Bank Park.
The summer blood drive is being held due to the critical need for blood in the Delaware Valley area. With fans’ help, the team is hoping that this life-saving partnership will surpass 10,000 pints collected during its eight year run.
As a thank you, all presenting blood donors will receive a special edition Carlos Ruiz Jersey Style #51 t-shirt, as well as a tour of the ballpark. Fans will also be able to take photos with the 2008 World Series Trophy, and enjoy special appearances by the Phillie Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls.
One lucky donor will also be randomly selected to receive a special edition Carlos Ruiz t-shirt autographed by Chooch himself.
Fans are asked to pre-register for the event. Free parking is available at Lot S (enter off Pattison Avenue); fans should enter the Phillies Blood Drive via the VIP Suite Club West entrance, located off Citizens Bank Way, adjacent to the Majestic Clubhouse Store.

A limited number of appointments are available at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800 RED CROSS.
Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in PA and NJ), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.
All blood types are needed, but there is a particular need for people with negative blood types – O-negative, A-negative and B-negative - to give blood now.
