Labor Day doubleheader highlights MLB Network’s live game schedule from August 28 – September 3

MLB-Best Washington Nationals Host the St. Louis Cardinals on MLB Network Showcase, Called by Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz on August 30 <br /><br /> MLB&rsquo;s Batting Average, Hits, Home Runs and RBI Leaders Featured Throughout the Game Schedule

Secaucus, N.J., August 23, 2012 – MLB Network’s live game schedule from August 28 – September 3 features a Labor Day doubleheader with two intra-divisional matchups. Derek Jeter, MLB’s hits leader with 169 for the season, and the AL East-leading New York Yankees take on Evan Longoria and the second-place Tampa Bay Rays in a division showdown at 1:00 p.m. ET. Matt Kemp and the Los Angeles Dodgers will host the San Diego Padres in the second game of the day at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Next week’s schedule begins with Adam Jones and the Baltimore Orioles, currently in contention for an AL Wild Card spot, taking on the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see Andrew McCutchen, who leads MLB with a .349 batting average, and the Pirates face the division-rival Cardinals. On Friday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m. ET, two of the game’s most powerful hitters meet as MLB’s RBI leader Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers face Adam Dunn, MLB’s home run leader, and the White Sox in a matchup of the AL Central’s top two teams. Viewers in select markets will see the Yankees play host to the Orioles at Yankee Stadium. Justin Upton and the Arizona Diamondbacks visit Los Angeles to play the Dodgers on Saturday, September 1 at 9:00 p.m., in the last game leading up to the Labor Day doubleheader.
