Royals and Twins postponed

KANSAS CITY, MO (August 31, 2012) – Tonight’s game between the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins scheduled for 7:10 p.m. CT in Kansas City has been postponed due to inclement weather.  The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 1 at 3:10 p.m. CT as the first game of a doubleheader.  The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game, but no earlier than the originally scheduled time of 6:10 p.m.  Both games will be carried live on 610 Sports Radio and the Royals Radio Network, but neither will be televised on FOX Sports Kansas City.  Tonight’s scheduled telecast will be rescheduled at a later date.

Royals left-handed pitcher Will Smith, who was originally scheduled to start tonight, will make the start tomorrow at 3:10 p.m. in the first game of the doubleheader.  Right-hander Luke Hochevar will start tomorrow night’s contest as originally scheduled.  The Twins will also remain in order with right-handers Cole De Vries and Liam Hendriks scheduled to start the first and second games, respectively, tomorrow.

In addition, Billy Butler’s appearance at U.S. Toy, scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon tomorrow has been postponed.  It will be rescheduled at a later date.
