Twins recall Escobar and Perdomo

Triple-A Manager Gene Glynn Set to Join the Coaching Staff Friday

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled infielder Eduardo Escobar and right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo from Triple-A Rochester.  The two players will be in uniform tonight when the Twins play the White Sox in Chicago.

Escobar, 23, was acquired by the Twins from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for Francisco Liriano on July 28.  He entered the season as the White Sox 10th best prospect according to Baseball America and appeared in 36 games with Chicago prior to the trade.  While in the Twins organization, Escobar appeared in 35 games for Triple-A Rochester seeing time at third base, shortstop and second base.

Perdomo, who made five appearances for the Twins earlier this year, started the year at Double-A New Britain before posting a 2.43 ERA in 19 appearances at Triple-A.

Additionally, Rochester Manager Gene Glynn is set to join the Twins on Friday at Target Field.
