Three Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that three Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Free agent Minor League right-handed pitcher Ysmael Carmona has been suspended for 25 games without pay following a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.  The suspension of Carmona will be effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.

Baltimore Orioles Minor League left-handed pitcher Kevin Grendell has been suspended for 50 games without pay after testing positive for Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).  The suspension of Grendell, who is currently on the roster of the Gulf Coast League Orioles, is effective immediately.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Minor League left-handed pitcher Yancarlos Santiago has been suspended for 25 games without pay following a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.  The suspension of Santiago, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Orem Owls of the Pioneer League, is effective immediately.
