Mariners medical update on Dustin Ackley and Brendan Ryan

Ackley (left ankle) and Ryan (right elbow) had successful arthroscopic surgery today.

SEATTLE, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced today that second baseman Dustin Ackley and shortstop Brendan Ryan underwent successful arthroscopic surgeries. Both procedures were performed by Mariners Medical Director Dr. Edward Khalfayan in Seattle.

Ackley had a bone spur removed from his left ankle, and Ryan had a bone spur removed from his right elbow.

Both players will begin rehab exercises tomorrow and are expected to be 100% by the start of Spring Training.
