Blue Jays claim Cousins and Wade

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed OF SCOTT COUSINS off waivers from the Miami Marlins and RHP CORY WADE off waivers from the New York Yankees.

COUSINS, 27, has spent parts of three seasons with Miami posting a .183 average with two home runs and nine RBI in 175 at-bats. The Reno, Nevada native played the majority of 2012 with New Orleans of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) recording a .296 average with 22 extra base hits and 14 stolen bases in 61 games.

WADE, 29, posted a 1-1 record with a 6.46 ERA in 39 relief appearances for New York this past season. The Indianapolis, Indiana native posted a career low 2.04 ERA for the Yankees in 2011 and owns an 11-6 record with a 3.65 ERA over four Major League seasons.

The Blue Jays now have 39 players on the 40-man roster.
