Mariners outright Luis Jimenez to AAA Tacoma

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced the following roster move today:

- Luis Jimenez, DH, outrighted to AAA Tacoma.

The Mariners 40-man roster is now at 38 players, with one player still on the 60-day disabled list (LHP George Sherrill). Players that are eligible to become free agents will be eligible to come off the 40-man roster at the conclusion of the World Series.

Jimenez, 30, made his Major League debut appearing in 7 games with the Mariners in 2012, going 1-for-17 (.059) at the plate. He spent a bulk of the season with AAA Tacoma, and was named the Rainiers Offensive Player of the Year hitting .310 (146x471) with 20 home runs and 81 RBI.

Jimenez can elect to become a 6-year minor league free agent on the 5th day following the conclusion of the World Series.
