RHP Sandy Rosario claimed off waivers by Boston

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s announced today that right-handed pitcher Sandy Rosario was claimed off waivers by the Boston Red Sox.

Rosario was acquired by the A’s from Boston Nov. 28 for a player to be named later.  He spent the 2012 season in the Miami organization.  Rosario began the year at Triple-A New Orleans, posting a 1.04 ERA and 16 saves in 25 relief appearances.  He also logged an 18.00 ERA in four relief appearances with the Marlins.  Rosario was designated for assignment by the A’s Nov. 30 when they acquired Chris Resop from Pittsburgh.  The A’s sent right-handed pitcher Graham Godfrey to the Red Sox Dec. 7 as the player to be named later.
