Ryan Braun one of seven finalists for cover of "MLB 13: The Show"

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun is one of seven finalists eligible to grace the cover of the video game, "MLB 13: The Show."  For the first time ever, fans are invited to participate in a vote to see who will be on the cover beginning today at MLB.com/covervote.

In addition to visiting MLB.com to vote, every tweet and retweet that uses the hashtag #MLB13Braun on Twitter will count as a vote for Braun.

"It's an honor to be among the finalists to be on the cover of a videogame and it would be exciting to have a Brewer on the cover of this game," Braun said.  "Our fan base has always been extremely supportive and they have shown tremendous enthusiasm in voting for the entire team in All-Star balloting each year.  I've always been appreciative of that, so let's do our thing Brewers fans and get a Brewer on the cover of this game!"

Braun followed up his MVP campaign of 2011 with 41 home runs, 112 RBI and 30 stolen bases while hitting .319 last season.  He is no stranger to success in fan votes as Braun has been voted in to four MLB All-Star Games by the fans.  Brewers fans also familiar with the importance of getting the vote out in recent social media contests.  Miller Park was voted as the best ballpark in MLB in ESPN's "Battle of the Ballpark" last summer.

Produced by Sony and exclusively available on Sony Playstation 3 and PS Vista, "MLB 13: The Show" is expected to be released on March 5, 2013.  The game captures every detail and mechanic of baseball and is the number-one selling and rated Major League Baseball video game franchise.  Voting for the cover will conclude on Friday at 7 p.m. CST.
