Free World Baseball Classic app for iPad and iPhone now available

World Baseball Classic, Inc. today announced the availability of 2013 World Baseball Classic, the official mobile application of the World Baseball Classic, to be played March 2-19, 2013, in seven different cities spanning multiple continents. In the United States the World Baseball Classic will be televised exclusively on MLB Network (English) and ESPN Deportes (Spanish), beginning Friday, March 1 at 11:30 pm ET with Australia @ Chinese Taipei.

Many of the game's elite stars and veterans of Major League Baseball (MLB), Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and other leagues from Asia, Latin America, Europe and Australia will participate in the third edition of the World Baseball Classic.

2013 World Baseball Classic is a free app for iPhone and iPad built and powered by MLB Advanced Media, the industry-leading mobile app developer of At Bat, the top-grossing sports app of all-time. It will deliver live coverage of every game in the tournament with Gameday pitch-by-pitch tracking as well as mobile access to scores, schedules, statistics, video highlights, news and analysis from MLB.com reporters.

The 2013 World Baseball Classic app will also make live and on-demand telecasts of all 39 games available on an authenticated basis to Bright House Networks, DirecTV and Time Warner Cable subscribers who receive MLB Network as part of their TV subscription. MLB Network is the exclusive English-language telecast partner of the 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classic in the United States.

The World Baseball Classic, which is officially sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), will for the first time in 2013 be recognized as the official national team World Championship, with the winner being crowned the 2013 World Baseball Classic Champion and the IBAF World Champion.
