Texas Rangers to televise 10 Spring Training games in 2013

Fox Sports Southwest and TXA21 to provide extensive coverage beginning March 15

Arlington, Texas — Texas Rangers fans will receive extensive television coverage this spring as ten of the club’s final 18 exhibition games will be carried by either Fox Sports Southwest or TXA 21. The schedule of ten telecasts matches the team’s most ever in spring training.

The coverage begins on Friday, March 15 with TXA21’s coverage of the game with the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale at 3:05 p.m. CT. TXA21 will also carry games from Arizona on Monday, March 18 vs. Kansas City (8:05 p.m. CT); Thursday, March 21 vs. the Los Angeles Angels (8:05 p.m. CT); and Sunday, March 24 vs. Cincinnati (3:05 p.m. CT).  TXA21 will also carry the Rangers game with the Mexico City Red Devils on Thursday, March 28 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, a 7:05 p.m. CT start.

Fox Sports Southwest will once again televise the Rangers’ two exhibition games in Las Vegas against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, both at 3:05 p.m. CT. FSSW will also provide coverage of the Texas-Cincinnati game from Goodyear on Saturday, March 23 at 3:05 p.m. CT.

Big League Weekend at the Alamodome in San Antonio will be televised throughout the Rangers’ television territory. The Rangers meet the San Diego Padres on Friday, March 29 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, March 30 at 1:05 p.m. TXA21 will provide the coverage of the two Big League Weekend games in the Dallas-Fort Worth market while Fox Sports Southwest will distribute the telecasts into the remainder of the Rangers’ television territory in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
