Pirates March 31 workout to be open to the public

Fans Invited to Welcome the Buccos Back to PNC One Day Before the Home Opener

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced the team's pre-Opening Day workout at PNC Park on Sunday, March 31 will be open to the public, free of charge. Fans are invited to observe the workout, which is scheduled to be on the field from 1 to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Fans can enter the ballpark through the Legacy Square Gates (located in left field off General Robinson Street) beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sections one to 138 will be accessible for fans to view the home team's batting practice and fielding drills. The Pirates' concession partner Aramark will open the Federal Street Grill concession area (located behind section 115) for the event.

Parking around the ballpark will be free of charge by Alco in Lot Four (located along Mazeroski Way) and Lot Six (located along General Robinson Street, directly across from PNC Park).

The Pirates 2013 regular season home opener is scheduled for Monday, April 1 at 1:35 p.m. and they play host the Chicago Cubs for a three-game series to begin the season. Tickets for the three game series are available at pirates.com or by calling 1-877-893-2827.
