In addition, the Rangers announced they have returned right-handed pitcher Coty Woods, a Rule 5 selection to the Colorado Rockies.

Both players were drafted in the 2012 Rule 5 Draft on December 6. They had to be on the major league opening day rosters of the drafting teams or be offered back to their former organizations.

McGuiness batted .195 with one RBI in xx games for the Indians this spring. The left-handed batter hit .268 with 23 homers and 77 RBI in 123 games at Double-A Frisco in 2012 and was the Most Valuable Player in the 2012 Arizona Fall League with a .283 average and league best 27 RBI.

Woods produced a 2.61 ERA (3 ER/10.1 IP) with 10 strikeouts in 10 relief appearances with the Rangers this spring. He split 2012 between Double-A Tulsa (3-2, 0.76, 16 saves, 38 games) and Triple-A Colorado Springs (1-2, 7.40, 11 saves, 23 games).
