Twins and Delaware North Sportservice welcoming Andrew Zimmern, new minnesota favorites to Target Field Food Lineup

The Minnesota Twins and food service and retail partner Delaware North Companies Sportservice today announced the addition of several regional specialty foods at Target Field, highlighted by Mac's Fish and Chips (of St. Paul, Minn.), Sheboygan Sausage Co. (of Alexandria, Minn.), Panino's Baked Sandwiches (of North Oaks, Minn.) and celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern's AZ Canteen (of Minneapolis).

"Every season since Target Field opened in 2010, Sportservice has looked to see what we could do to offer fans even more variety and Minnesota flavor," said Pete Spike, general manager for Sportservice at Target Field. "So we're excited to bring in Andrew Zimmern along with Mac's and Panino's to go along with the other outstanding tastes of Twins Territory fans look for at the ballpark's concessions."

"The Twins will continue to make food and beverage offerings a top priority to enhance the overall game day experience at Target Field," said Dave St. Peter, Twins president. "The high quality products, local favorites and unparalleled selection have played a significant role in making Target Field one of America's greatest sports venues."

Many signature Target Field menu items such as Kramarczuk's sausages, the Murray's Steak Sandwich, the Valentini's Mega Meatball, the El Burrito Mercado's Walk A Taco and Loon Café Chili will return for the 2013 season.

In addition to existing offerings from partners such as Pepsi, Schweigert™, Barrel O' Fun, Caribou Coffee, Angie's Kettle Corn, Fisher Nuts, SuperMom's Mini Donuts, Leeann Chin, Country Hearth, Old Dutch, Killebrew Root Beer, Giant Snacks and B. Smith Olive Oil, fans can look forward to the exciting new additions below for the 2013 season.

New Food Items for 2013

Andrew Zimmern began his culinary career as a celebrated chef in Minneapolis and continues to call the Twin Cities his home while hosting Travel Channel's "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" and working on many other culinary projects across the world.

His latest initiative, the AZ Canteen food truck, which he launched last year at the Minnesota State Fair, is set to be celebrated with a new grill location at Target Field. AZ Canteen at Section 120 will feature Zimmern's famous Canteen Burger, a lamb/goat blend fully dressed with house-made chips, and other specialties from the food truck.

"As a long-time MN Twins season ticket holder, I've combined my life long passions for baseball, food and storytelling," says Andrew Zimmern. "I'm really proud of my Canteen Burger, butchered by Pat LaFrieda Meats, and can't wait for everyone to enjoy the sweet taste of a Canteen Burger and a Twins victory at the next home stand."

Twins fans will also be able to grab St. Paul favorite Mac's Fish and Chips at the State Fair Stand (Section 133). Former Minnesota North Star Tom McCarthy opened the restaurant in 1991, transforming a St. Paul gas station into a popular fish 'n chips shack. Now operated by Dan and Tom Flanigan, Mac's has built a loyal following with its fresh battered walleye.

Another St. Paul staple, Panino's Baked Sandwiches, joins the food lineup at Target Field this season. Founded in 1974, Panino's uses a secret dough recipe in its baked sandwiches made with various fresh-prepared fillings. At all Frankie V's concessions at Target Field, Sportservice will serve a Buffalo Chicken Panino - made with chicken, celery, Swiss cheese and Panino's own Buffalo sauce - and the Spaghetti Pie Panino, stuffed with spaghetti noodles, meatball and mozzarella cheese and smothered in pasta sauce.

Sportservice and the Twins are also enhancing Target Field's all-star sausage lineup with four varieties of delicious sausage - Italian, Polish, bratwurst and cheddar bratwurst - from the Sheboygan Sausage Co., an upper Midwest tradition since the company was founded in 1933. Sheboygan sausages will be available at several concession stands, while Twins fans can still savor hometown favorite Kramarczuk's sausage at portable grill locations on the concourses.

Other new concessions concepts this season include the new Twins Territory Market in Section 112, which will feature healthier menu items that are perfect for those with dietary needs or sensitive to food allergies. Sportservice is also adding to the Food Network-created dishes it serves with a trio of mac 'n cheese selections: buffalo chicken, jalapeno popper and Cajun Andouille using Kramarczuk's sausage.

Roots for the Home Team expands its service at Target Field in 2013 by bringing fresh, locally-grown produce to the ballpark on Saturdays and Sundays starting June 1. Using vegetables and herbs they have grown, participating youth from ethnically diverse areas of the Twin Cities develop and sell tasty, creative salad recipes exclusively at Target Field.

Papa John's Pizza also joins the culinary lineup at Target Field, serving personal pizzas from Frankie V's concession locations on the main and terrace levels.

Kemps will provide fans with Kemps soft serve ice cream and novelties. Returning to the ballpark lineup will be the fan favorite Kemps malt cup along with a new highlight, Kemps SnoBlitz a ready to eat soft serve treat. Kemps items will be available at locations throughout the ballpark and vended in the stands.

Along with introducing new items, Sportservice and the Twins are bringing back many signature favorites, including Murray's Steak Sandwich, Tony O's Cuban Sandwich, Turkey to Go, Walk A Taco, the Minneapple Pie, Valentini's Mega Meatball, The Preferred Pickle, a baked potato bar, garlic fries, SuperMom's Mini Donuts, Leeann Chin's stir fry, B. Smith Olive Oil and many others.

New Restaurant and Club Menu Items

Sportservice Executive Chef Pastor Jimenez has once again added new tastes to the menus in Target Field's restaurants and suites. At Hrbek's, fans can now enjoy fish tacos, a homemade meatloaf sandwich, a flank steak salad and summer fiesta salad, among others. At Town Ball Tavern, Sportservice is now serving several new menu items, including a French dip sandwich, Summit beer-battered walleye fingers and a roasted apple and baby spinach salad. At the Metropolitan Club, Jimenez has added sesame chicken bahn mi, a smoked turkey and brie sandwich, a wild mushroom and Swiss burger, a mozzarella a la Caprese salad, a BBQ jack burger and other selections.

Returning Beverages

The Twins and Sportservice are also proud to partner with and serve locally-based 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey. The 2 Gingers Pubs, formerly known as the Twins Pubs, feature the Big Ginger; a signature cocktail made of 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey, ginger ale, with lemon and lime garnish.

While Anheuser-Busch remains the official beer partner of the Minnesota Twins, in recent years the Twins have expanded their selection of local craft beers. Brews from Surly, Fulton, Summit, Finnegans and Schell's will be available at various locations throughout Target Field. At the 573 Bar, fans can enjoy beers from Fulton, Lift Bridge, Granite City and Cold Springs Brewery.
