Indians announce 2013 Opening Day roster

The Cleveland Indians today announced the formation of the 2013 Major League Opening Day roster.  Today the Indians submitted the following transactions to Major League Baseball in advance of the 3PM ET roster deadline:

Placed RHP FRANK HERRMANN (March 13 right elbow surgery) on the 15-day Disabled List

Re-assigned RHP MATT CAPPS, RHP JERRY GIL, RHP DAISUKE MATSUZAKA, CA OMIR SANTOS, INF LUIS HERNANDEZ and OF MATT CARSON to the Triple-A Columbus roster.

Selected the contract of INF RYAN RABURN from AAA Columbus and placed him on the 25-man roster.

Designated LHP DAVID HUFF for assignment.

The 40-man roster remains at 39 players.
