KANSAS CITY, MO (May 9, 2013) - The Kansas City Royals will be partnering with the Kansas City Chiefs and Operation Blessing International to distribute food to those in need at the Operation Blessing event on Saturday, May 11. 50/50 Raffles and concourse auctions hosted by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will occur every day of the upcoming weekend series with the New York Yankees, plus other events listed below.

Friday, May 10 - New York Yankees vs. Royals presented by Sprint, 7:10 p.m.

• 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - Royals Charities is hosting a 50/50 Raffle for every Royals home game in 2013, giving fans more chances to win big! Royals Charities staffers will sell raffle tickets from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning. One winning ticket will be selected with the winner taking home half of the evening's net proceeds. The other half will be donated to Royals Charities. www.royals.com/5050.
• Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction - Royals Charities and the MLBPAA host a silent auction near the Majestic Team Store on the Field/Plaza Level from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning.

Saturday, May 11 - New York Yankees vs. Royals presented by Sprint, 6:10 p.m.

• Operation Blessing - The Royals join forces with the Kansas City Chiefs and Operation Blessing International to feed more than 2,000 needy families in Kansas City. Under the motto "Two Teams: One Goal," the clubs join more than 200 community volunteers to distribute Operation Blessing's food and toys to those who need it most. Distribution will begin at approximately 11 a.m. at the KC Power and Light lot, located at East 30th St. and Troost Ave. in Kansas City, Mo.
• 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - A Royals Charities fundraiser in which one lucky fan will win half of the net proceeds! The remaining proceeds from Saturday's raffle will be split between Royals Charities and ALS. www.royals.com/5050.

Sunday, May 12 - New York Yankees vs. Royals presented by Sprint, 1:10 p.m.

• Royals Celebrate Mother's Day with Breast Cancer Awareness Efforts - As part of the club's Mother's Day celebration, the Royals and MLB will partner with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to highlight breast cancer awareness. Select players will utilize special pink bats, and the club will host a silent auction featuring special bases from the game and other "pink" items outside of the Royals Charities store. In addition, there will be a Komen donation table where Komen shirts and Royals pink bracelets will be distributed. Alex Gordon, who is part of this year's Honorary Bat Girl guest judging panel, will meet the Royals honoree during batting practice prior to a special pregame ceremony celebrating breast cancer survivors. • Royals Troopers - The Royals Grounds Crew welcomes select children who have a parent deployed through the United States military efforts overseas to join them in game preparations as part of the Royals Troopers program. The honored kids will help prepare the field prior to the Royals game and will receive game tickets and Royals merchandise.
