Martin Perez activated from DL and optioned to Frisco
Lefthander has made two rehab starts at Frisco
The Texas Rangers today announced that lefthanded pitcher Martin Perez has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and optioned to Double-A Frisco of the Texas League.
Perez has been on the disabled list since March 31 (retroactive to March 22) after sustaining a broken left wrist when he was hit by a line drive off the bat of Seattle's Brad Miller on March 3. He made two starts on rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco, a no decision on May 6 at Midland (4.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R-ER, 0 BB, 1 SO) and a loss last night at Corpus Christi (3.1 IP, 9 H, 8 R-ER, 2 BB, 1 SO).
Perez is expected to be transferred to Round Rock later this week and join the Express' rotation.
Perez was 7-6, 4.25 in 22 games/21 starts at Round Rock and 1-4, 5.45 in 12 games/6 starts in his major league debut with Texas in 2012.
