Dodgers reinstate Zack Greinke from the disabled list; place Josh Beckett on the DL

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke from the 15-day disabled list and placed right-handed pitcher Josh Beckett on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 14) with a left groin strain. Greinke will make his third start of the season tonight (1-0, 1.29 ERA), after suffering a fractured left clavicle during an altercation with Carlos Quentin on April 11 at San Diego. He underwent surgery on April 13 to fix the injury, as a metal plate was used to stabilize the fracture, and threw 80 pitches in a rehab start on Friday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga at Lake Elsinore, allowing eight runs (three earned) on six hits in 4.1 innings in a no-decision.

Beckett has made eight starts for the Dodgers this season, going 0-5 with a 5.19 ERA.
