With tourism season underway, the Phillies will be joining the Independence Visitor Center in hosting a free "Celebrate Tourism Event" - for visitors and fans alike - on Tuesday, May 28, from 11 a.m. until noon. Among the highlights:

  • Tourists are invited to join the Phillie Phanatic, who will be dressed in colonial garb, and march through the center, accompanied by Phillies Ballgirls and Phillies' Director of Public Affairs Scott Palmer.
  • For the first time, Phillies tickets will be available for visitors to purchase at the Independence Visitor Center. In honor of this milestone, the Phanatic will make the first Phillies ticket purchase.
  • The Phanatic will also use a giant remote to turn on a Phillies video display, created especially for those visiting the Philadelphia area. The new video features a "Welcome to Philadelphia" message from Phillies' Ryan Howard.
  • Attendees will also be treated to facepainting, balloon artists, and Phillies schedule magnets.

The Independence Visitor Center is located at 6th & Market Streets in Philadelphia.
