Blue jays place Oliver on Disabled List

Nolin Set To Make ML Debut

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed LHP DARREN OLIVER on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder strain retroactive to May 19. LHP SEAN NOLIN had his contract selected and will make his Major League debut this evening. LHP J.A. HAPP has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

            OLIVER, 42, has appeared in 17 games this season posting a 2-1 record with a 3.18 ERA. The Southlake, Texas resident has not allowed more than one run in any of his outings this season. Since joining Toronto in 2012 he has posted a 2.32 ERA in 79 games

            NOLIN, 23, is making his Major League debut tonight, having pitched with New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA) where he posted a 2-0 record with a 1.17 ERA in three starts. The 6-5, 235 pound left-hander has not suffered a loss since the 2011 season, having appeared in 24 games since his last loss, recording a 13-0 record with a 1.91 ERA over that span.
