Marlins take on the Rays, Mets at Marlins Park

MIAMI - The Miami Marlins kick off interleague play at Marlins Park against the Tampa Bay Rays (May 29-May 30), followed by a series against the New York Mets (May 31-June 2) at Marlins Park. The five-game homestand will feature several great promotions and special events.

On Wednesday, May 29, kids 12 and under can eat free on Kids Eat Free Wednesday Nights. Fans can also take advantage of the Chevron "Crazy 8's" Ticket Offer and get $8 Home Run Porch tickets or $18 Home Plate Box tickets to any Wednesday home game in 2013 with the purchase of eight (8) gallons or more from any South Florida Chevron station. Fans can present their receipt at the Marlins Park Box Office on the day of game only to receive their tickets. Fans also have the option of purchasing tickets online at marlins.com by using the promo code Chevron.

The series against the Rays will conclude on Thursday, May 30 at 7:10pm. Fans can take advantage of the WellMax Medical Centers Seniors Free Ticket Thursday where all fans 55 years and older can receive complimentary tickets to all Thursday home games, Subway $5 Ticket Offer where fans can visit their local participating Subway location to receive a Marlins voucher valid for one $5 ticket, and the Pepsi Can $5 Ticket Offer where fans can bring proof of a Pepsi product purchase (minimum 12 oz. can) in the form of a can or receipt, and receive their choice of a $5 ticket in Vista Reserved, Vista Box or Home Run Porch, or a $10 ticket in Legends Silver for any home game in May.

The series against the Mets starts on Friday, May 31 at 7:10pm. Every Friday home game this season is a Fireworks Friday, where fans can enjoy a Fireworks Show over Marlins Park from the comfort of their seats immediately after the game. Also on Fridays, fans can purchase the Sir Pizza 4-Pack, which includes four (4) tickets, four (4) personal Sir Pizzas and four (4) Pepsi soft drinks, all for $60 and available on every Friday night home game. 

The three-game series continues on Saturday, June 1 at 4:10 P.M. with a post-game performance featuring Cirque Dreams, presented by the All New RAV4. This Saturday Spectacular will feature pregame entertainment on the West Plaza from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and an autograph session with a Marlins player inside the New Era Team Store from 3:00 to 3:20 P.M. The All-You-Can-Eat Seats will also be available on Saturday Spectaculars, for just $27 in Vista Reserved or $37 in Legends Silver. Like Mondays, menu items will include unlimited Kayem Beef Franks, Peanuts, Popcorn, Nachos, Pepsi soft drinks, and Aquafina water.

On Family Sunday, June 2 at 1:10, fans are invited to Marlins Park for the 10th annual Jewish Heritage Day. Fans can purchase tickets in advance at www.marlins.com/specialevents and receive a limited edition Marlins Yarmulke while supplies last. Also, as part of Marlins Family Sundays, the first 5,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Giancarlo Stanton Arm Sleeve courtesy of Fox Sports Florida. Pregame fun will feature entertainment with Radio Disney AM 990, DJ Petey and the Marlins Energy Team. During Snapshot Sunday on the Promenade Level outside of Section 28, fans can take photos with a Marlins player from 12 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. Post-game entertainment will include Diamond Dash where all kids 12 and under can run the bases. On all Family Sundays, fans can pick up the Pepsi 4-for-$54 Pack ,which includes four (4) tickets, four (4) Kayem Beef Franks and four (4) Pepsi soft drinks, starting at just $54.

KIDS EAT FREE WEDNESDAY NIGHTS: All kids 12 and under can eat free on Wednesday night home games in 2013 (excludes Camp Days on June 26 and July 10). Promotion is valid for all seating categories in the ballpark. Each child 12 and under will receive a voucher at the ballpark entrance for a free Kayem Beef Frank, a bag of chips and a small Pepsi, redeemable at any Fan Feast concession stand in the ballpark or at the Kids Shack concession stand in centerfield on the Promenade Level. A specific voucher for each Wednesday home game will be created by the Marlins Marketing department and distributed at the gates by CSC. THE LIL' DOBBERS: Greg Dobbs has donated 10 tickets to children from the Boys and Girls Club of Miami Beach. The kids will have the opportunity to attend a game at Marlins Park, receive a food voucher and Lil Dobbers t-shirt, as well as attend a private meet and greet with Greg Dobbs out on the field during Marlins pre-game batting practice.

TRANSFORMERS AT MARLINS PARK: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be visiting Marlins Park direct from Universal Studios Orlando. They will be accompanying a lucky kid from Give Kids the World Foundation for the first pitch on the field. 

Both characters will be available for pictures starting at 8pm out on the Promenade area outside of section 28 where we have done Snapshot Sundays in the past. Character snapshots will start at 8pm and run for 20 minutes at a time throughout the end of the game.

MARLINS AYUDAN SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (MASPP): MIAMI EDISON MIDDLE SCHOOL: As part of Marlins Education Month, the Miami Marlins will be recognizing their partner schools throughout the homestand. Marlins Ayudan team "Pura Vida," led by Vice President & General Counsel, Derek Jackson have partnered with Miami Edison Middle School. Their mission is to work with the students, teachers and leadership of Miami-Edison Middle School to support their greatest areas of need, including improving the reading skills and academic performance of the students. In addition they hope to provide positive role models and mentors for the students and ensure a presence that positively impacts the student body.

Marlins Ayudan School Partnership Program (MASPP)

Through this initiative, we will directly impact the lives and education of the youth in Miami Dade County Public Schools. We will be guided by focused involvement with students, faculty and staff at eight partner schools, and be led by the following principles:

• Work with partner schools in identifying areas of greatest need and develop a measurable game plan to address those needs.

• Implement the game plan by utilizing Marlins Ayudan teams' individual and collective strengths.

• Leave a lasting legacy at each partner school.

REVIVING BASEBALL IN INNER CITIES SOFTBALL CLINIC: As part of the Marlins Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program, all softball division participants will take part in a clinic hosted by our players and coaching staff. RBI players will take swings in the batting cages as well as throw in the bullpens and receive defensive instruction in the outfield. Participating schools include Miami Senior High School, Miami Norland High School, Alonzo T. Mourning High School, Miami Jackson High School, Flanagan High School, Miami Springs High School, and others.

About Marlins RBI: Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth program offering children ages 13-18, who live in disadvantaged areas, the opportunity to participate in organized baseball. This program is designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility in underserved and disadvantaged areas of South Florida. The Marlins supply the uniforms, umpires and equipment for more than 500 children. All participants enjoy a fun and competitive summer league, clinics hosted by Marlins players and alumni, recognition on the field and an invitation to RBI Night, and the opportunity to be selected for the RBI All Star team that competes in the Southeast Regional Tournament.

Snapshot Sunday: On every Family Sunday this season, fans will be able to have their photograph taken with a Marlins player. Fans are reminded to bring their own camera. Snapshot Sunday is located on the Promenade Level in Section 28 from 12:00 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. 

PREGAME ENTERTAINMENT: DJ Petey and Radio Disney AM 990 will host a pregame party on the West Plaza from 11 AM to 1 PM with music, games, prizes and more.

JOSE FERNANDEZ & KIWANIS OF LITTLE HAVANA: Jose Fernandez has donated 10 tickets to children from the Kiwanis of Little Havana who will have the opportunity to attend a game at Marlins Park, receive a food voucher, as well as attend a private meet and greet with Jose Fernandez and attend Marlins batting practice pregame.

Diamond Dash: After every Marlins Family Sunday, kids 12 and under get to run the bases on the field in the Marlins Diamond Dash. We ask that children do not slide at any base or Home Plate for their own safety. Billy's Bunch kids club members can present their 2012 membership card in order to move up to the Diamond Dash Fast Lane.

PEPSI 4-FOR-$54 PACK: On all Family Sundays, fans can pick up the Pepsi 4-for-$54 Pack, which includes four (4) tickets, four (4) Kayem Beef Franks and four (4) Pepsi soft drinks, starting at just $54.

10TH ANNUAL JEWISH HERITAGE DAY: Join the Marlins as we celebrate Jewish Heritage. Special event packages include a discounted game ticket and a LIMITED EDITION MIAMI MARLINS YARMULKE. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit South Florida Jewish Programs. Special Events Packages must be ordered in advance and online only at www.marlins.com/specialevents.

On game day, National Anthem will be sung by Chen Oz, a senior at David Posnack Jewish Day School. There will also be the performance of the Israeli National Anthem. Kosher food will be available at the Kosher Korner located near section 1 on the Promenade Level of Marlins Park.

MARLINS ADOPT-O-MANIA: Marlins Ayudan team "The Voice" works with the Human Society of Greater Miami aand the Cat Network. Each year, Miami Dade County Animal Services Department receives over 30,000 pets. The goal of this event, as with any event in which the Department participates, is to increase pet adoptions, sterilizations, vaccinations and community awareness and involvement with the shelter
