Phillies One Millionth Bobble Milestone!
Entire Phillies Bobble Head Collection on Display at Citizens Bank Park, May 31-June 5
A major milestone in the bobble head world is about to be made. On Tuesday, June 4, the one millionth Phillies bobble head will be given out at Citizens Bank Park entrance gates before that night's 7:05 p.m. game against the Miami Marlins. The collectible that marks the occasion is the Toyota Carlos Ruiz Bobble Figurine - and the lucky fan who receives the one millionth bobble will have some special surprises in store, including a gold-painted, autographed Ruiz bobble.
In honor of the milestone, all fans will be able to view the entire Phillies Bobble Head Collection on Friday, May 3 until Wednesday, June 5. The Phillies Bobble Display Case will be located at the Phillies Authentics Shop (behind Section 133 on the Main Concourse) at Citizens Bank Park.
In all, there are 27 bobble heads in the Phillies collection, all given out to fans from 2001-2013. The first bobble was former Phillie Pat Burrell, who shared his thoughts on being honored with a bobble head:
"In my case, the best part about being the bobble head giveaway was knowing that I was going to be on the team and not sent to the minors. It's a testament to the great Phillies fans that they continue to support the players to the point that over a million bobbles have been given out."
The Phillies will continue the bobble head tradition on Wednesday, August 21, with the PECO Cole Hamels Bobble Figurine giveaway for all fans during the 7:05 p.m. game against the Colorado Rockies.
