Jose Bautista named Honda Player of the Month
TORONTO BLUE JAYS OF JOSE BAUTISTA was voted as the HONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH for May by the TORONTO CHAPTER of the BBWAA. Honda, the official car of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity of Jose's choosing.
BAUTISTA, 32 earned the honours for the third consecutive May. The 10-year veteran posted a .337 average with five home runs and 16 RBI, including an OPS of .994. Bautista finished 2nd in the AL with 22 walks, leading to a 6th place ranking in OBP at .446. Over his last three May's, the right-handed hitter has posted a .315 average & 1.040 OPS, with 25 home runs and 61 RBI.
