White Sox reinstate Gordon Beckham from Disabled List; Designate Tyler Greene for assignment

Prior to tonight's game at Seattle, the Chicago White Sox returned infielder Gordon Beckham from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for Beckham on the active roster, the White Sox designated infielder Tyler Greene for assignment

Beckham, 26, has been on the disabled list since April 12 following surgery to repair a hook of the hamate fracture in his left hand. The infielder suffered the injury during a second-inning at-bat on April 10 at Washington. He appeared in eight injury rehabilitation assignment games with Charlotte.

Beckham is hitting .316 (6-19) over seven games this season.

Greene, 29, hit .222 (12-54) with a home run and three RBI over 22 games (14 starts) with the White Sox this season. His contract was purchased from the Knights on April 14 after he signed a minor-league contract on April 4.

The White Sox 40-man roster decreases to 38.
