Indians select LHP Kyle Crockett in fourth round of MLB Draft

The Indians today selected LHP KYLE CROCKETT from the University of Virginia with the 111th overall pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

The Poquoson, VA native is 4-1 with 12 saves and a 1.68ERA in 28 relief outings this year for the Cavaliers (53.2IP, 39H, 10ER, 6BB, 68K). In his 3-year career at UVa he is 12-3 w/a 1.98 ERA in 87 games (145.2IP, 110H, 32ER, 27BB, 157K). He has a collegiate walk to strikeout ratio of 5.8, including just 6 walks and 68 strikeouts in 53.2 innings during his junior year. Virginia plays Mississippi State this weekend in the NCAA Super Regional.

The 6-2, 170-pound lefty was the 2010 Gatorade Virginia Player of the Year and a two-time State Player of the Year (2009, 2010) at Poquoson High School.
