Brewers conclude 2013 First-Year Player Draft

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers completed the third day of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft with 30 selections today from Rounds 11-40. Overall, the Brewers made 40 selections over the three days of the MLB Draft.

In the 37th round, Milwaukee selected shortstop JaVon Shelby, son of Brewers outfield coach John Shelby, from Tates Creek (KY) High School.

The Brewers drafted 28 college players and 12 high school players. Milwaukee selected 23 pitchers (six left-handers and 17 right-handers). Of the 17 positional players, the Brewers took eight outfielders, seven infielders and two catchers.
