Promotions & Special Events

Ceremonial First Pitch:   On Tuesday, June 11, Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the A's vs. Yankees game. Barnes, who was selected seventh overall in the 2012 NBA Draft, averaged 9.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in 81 regular season contests in his first season with the Warriors. He was named to the NBA's All-Rookie First Team.

Superhero Themed Fireworks: The A's second fireworks show of the season is on Friday, June 14. This special show, set to superhero theme songs, is presented by Oakland Tribune and Contra Costa Times. Fans will be invited down to the field to watch the show from the outfield grass.

A's BeerFest: The 17th annual Oakland A's Beer Festival is on Saturday, June 15. This pregame event will be held in the Eastside Club from 2:15-4:15 p.m. Fans can enjoy tastings from over 30 different microbreweries and live music from Bay Area cover band Pop Rocks. Admission to A's BeerFest is free with a game ticket. A commemorative pilsner glass and two tastings will be available for $10.

Grant Balfour Ragin' Gnome: On Father's Day, Sunday, June 16, 10,000 fans will receive a Grant Balfour Ragin' gnome, courtesy of Majestic.

Community Relations

Green Stampede Homework Club: On Friday, June 14, elementary school students will visit O.co Coliseum to receive help with their homework from tutors and aids. An A's player will visit and sign autographs for the students as a way to congratulate them for their hard work. After the students have finished their homework, they are able to sit in the stands and watch the game.

Take the Field with the A's: The Take the Field with the A's program gives youth baseball and softball teams the chance to live out their Major League dreams. On Sunday, June 16, youth players will join Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem. Each participant receives an autographed baseball and t-shirt, courtesy of the A's Community Fund.

Race Around the Bases: After every Sunday day game, children 14 and under are invited to run the same bases that the Oakland A's do. A's mascot Stomper is present to cheer the participants. The Race Around the Bases program is driven by Chevrolet.
