Yankee Stadium to host third annual "Bombers Boomer Broadway Softball Classic" on Monday, June 24, benefiting The Boomer Esiason Foundation and The Actors Fund

Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Members, WFAN Personalities, Broadway Stars and New York Yankees Alumni to Participate in Charity Softball Matchups

The New York Yankees today announced that Yankee Stadium will host the third annual "Bombers Boomer Broadway Softball Classic" on Monday, June 24.

The third annual doubleheader will include two seven-inning games, with current Broadway stars facing off in the first game and Boomer's celebrities playing members of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team and New York Yankees alumni in the second game. 

Those scheduled to participate include 2013 Tony Award nominees Gabe Ebert, Patina Miller and Charl Brown-as well as past Tony nominees Constantine Maroulis, Jeremy Jordan and Brandon Victor Dixon-who will team up with Broadway stars Reeve Carney, Arthur Darvill, Dominic Scaglione, Jr. and Aaron Tveit. Michelle Beadle, the New York correspondent for "Access Hollywood," will join the Broadway stars and Tony Award nominees in the first game. 

Participating in the second game will be former Yankees Brian Boehringer, Homer Bush, Brian Doyle, Charlie Hayes, Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, Graeme Lloyd, Andy Phillips and Bernie Williams; WFAN morning show personalities Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton; former New York Ranger Adam Graves; former NBA star Wally Sczerbiak and NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick.

Prior to the first game, Rock of Ages star Justin Sargent will perform the national anthem.

Members of the Broadway Show League, consisting of various Broadway performers, will form the two teams in the event's first game, scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. The second game-between Boomer's celebrities and Wounded Warriors/New York Yankees alumni-will start at approximately 12:00 p.m.

 

A limited number of tickets are available for purchase by visiting the Boomer Esiason Foundation website (http://www.esiason.org) or the Actors Fund website (www.actorsfund.org). Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis and The Actors Fund.

Gates will open at 9:00 a.m. Credential- and ticket-holding guests should enter Yankee Stadium through the Gate 4 Suite Entrance at the corner of East 161st Street and Jerome Avenue.

Media members wishing to attend the "Bombers Boomer Broadway Softball Classic" must submit their request by e-mailing [email protected] by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2012. Applications must be completed by a Sports Editor or Sports Director. The press gate will open to credentialed media at 9:00 a.m.
