Akron INF Ronnie Rodriguez wins Player of the Week honors

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced that Double-A Akron INF RONNIE
RODRIGUEZ
has been named the Indians Minor League Player of the Week for June 11-18.

Rodriguez, 22, ranked third in the Eastern League in batting throughout the week, hitting .435
(10-23) with 5 RBI and 5 runs scored, while posting a 1.136 OPS (.440 OBP/.696 SLG.). He led the
Eastern League in extra base hits, collecting 4 doubles and a triple through his 5 games. Rodriguez
recorded 3 consecutive 3-hit performances to start the week and rode a 7-game hitting streak through June 15 at Portland. On the season, Rodriguez is batting at a .277 clip (70-253) with 14 doubles, 6 triples, 4 home runs and 32 RBI.

The 6'0", 170-pound shortstop was originally signed by the Indians as a non-drafted free agent
on October 5, 2010. Hailing from Valverde Mao, DR, Rodriguez entered the 2013 season ranked as the 9th overall prospect in the Indians organization according to Baseball America. He finished the 2012 campaign T3rd in the Indians Player Development System with 19 home runs.
