July 4 Military Appreciation Day at PNC Park Update

Thousands of Tickets Distributed Courtesy of Pirates and GovX Complimentary Ticket Program

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today the Pirates and GovX complimentary ticket program for Military Appreciation Day on Thursday, July 4 is now sold out. Due to the overwhelming response to the program, thousands of tickets for the game were distributed and the inventory for the program has now been exhausted.

The Pirates would like to extend their appreciation to all groups and active duty military personnel and veterans of the United States Armed Forces that worked quickly to ensure tickets were distributed to the many deserving individuals.

In honor of those who currently serve our country, as well as those who have served in the past, the Pirates and GovX.com-- a dedicated website for military, law enforcement, first responders and related government agencies--have partnered to provide a day of enjoyment at PNC Park for service men and women.

All active duty military personnel and veterans were given the opportunity to request up to four tickets per military I.D. in advance of the July 4 game. Tickets were made available while supplies lasted and were distributed on a firstcome, first-serve basis.

The Pirates are pleased to have the opportunity to honor these brave men and women throughout the day as the team plays host to the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:35 p.m. The Thursday afternoon game will be a special one at PNC Park with several pregame on-field ceremonies, including a Pirates Charities and PNC Bank donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Also during the day, players from the each team will wear special "Stars and Stripes" style hats in honor of Independence Day.
