D-backs reinstate Hill from 15-day disabled list, option Paterson to Triple-A Reno

Optioned Joe Paterson to Triple-A Reno following Sunday's game

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) reinstated infielder Aaron Hill from the 15-day disabled list, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers. Following Sunday's game (June 23), the D-backs optioned left-handed pitcher Joe Paterson to Triple-A Reno.

Hill played in 6 rehab games for Triple-A Reno and hit .375 (9-for-24) with 8 runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 6 RBI and 1 walk. He last played on June 22 and went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 1 triple vs. Tucson.

Hill, 31, is hitting .306 (11-for-36) with 3 doubles, 2 home runs and 6 RBI in 10 games with Arizona this season. He originally suffered the injury after being hit by a James McDonald pitch on April 9 vs. Pittsburgh.

Paterson, 27, appeared in 2 games for the D-backs, allowing 1 run in 2.1 innings.
