White Sox Reinstate Conor Gillaspie from Paternity Leave List

CHICAGO - Prior to the first game of today's doubleheader vs. Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox reinstated third baseman Conor Gillaspie from the Paternity Leave List.

Gillaspie, 25, was placed on the Paternity Leave List on Wednesday for the birth of his first child. He is batting .246 (48-195) with five home runs and 18 RBI this season, his first with the White Sox after being acquired from San Francisco on February 22.

Brent Morel, who was recalled from Class AAA Charlotte on Wednesday to replace Gillaspie on the active roster, will remain with the club for today's doubleheader. Per the collective bargaining agreement, teams are allowed to carry 26 active players for certain doubleheaders.

Morel, 26, started at third base on Wednesday vs. New-York-NL, going 1-3.
