Ortiz, Pedroia, Victorino, Lester, Buchholz among Red Sox who will be "Celebrating Service" throughout the month of July

Club will pay Tribute to Military, Civic, and Community Service

Throughout the month of July, the Boston Red Sox will be "Celebrating Service" by engaging in community service efforts and honoring service providers at each of the 12 home games.

Red Sox stars including David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Shane Victorino, Jon Lester, and Clay Buchholz will engage in service projects or fundraising events, as will Red Sox legends Pedro Martinez, Jason Varitek, and Tim Wakefield, newly appointed Honorary Chairman of the Red Sox Foundation.

At each July home game, the Red Sox will make a contribution from the foundation to a community service organization; recognize citizens who have dedicated their careers to public and civic service; and continue their practice of honoring men and women who serve in the military in the "Hats off to Heroes" program presented by John Hancock.

In addition, the Red Sox Wives and Red Sox front office members will be visiting and helping those in need.

On Independence Day, July 4, the club, in cooperation with "Operation Rolling Thunder," will paint a seat black at Fenway Park and dedicate it to the memory of Prisoners of War and to those Missing In Action.

The activities currently scheduled include the following:

July 1
