Pirates place Walker on DL; recall Harrison from Triple-A

The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed second baseman Neil Walker on the 15-day disabled list (retro to July 7) with right side soreness. To take Walker's place on the 25-man active roster, the club has recalled infielder Josh Harrison from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Harrison was hitting .317 (85-for-268) with 29 doubles, five triples, four home runs, 34 RBI, 50 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 64 games with Indianapolis at the time of his recall. He hit .352 (43-for-122) in 28 games since the beginning of June and entered today with an International League leading 29 doubles. He was also named to this season's International League mid-season All-Star team.

This is Harrison's fifth stint with the Pirates this season. In his first 12 games with the Pirates this year he has gone 2-for-13 with one RBI. Harrison is expected to be here in time for tonight's game.
