LHP Brad Mills granted release to sign with Orix Buffaloes of Japanese Pacific League

Mills was claimed on waivers from Los Angeles Angels on March 24

The Texas Rangers today announced that left-handed pitcher Brad Mills has been granted his release from the organization in order to sign a contract with the Orix Buffaloes of Nippon Professional Baseball's Pacific League.

Mills was claimed on outright waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on March 24 and was assigned outright to Triple-A Round Rock on March 28. He had spent the entire season with the Express, going 7-5, 3.87 in 18 games/17 starts. He has been scheduled to participate in Wednesday's Triple-A All-Star Game in Reno but withdrew after reaching agreement with Orix.

Mills is 3-3, 7.76 in 15 games/10 games in his major league career with the Blue Jays and Angels. He pitched parts of three seasons for Toronto from 2009-11 and earned a win in his only outing for Los Angeles in 2012.
