Texas Rangers sign five-year sponsorship extension with Blue Bell

Blue Bell continues as official ice cream of the Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers today announced that the club and Blue Bell Creameries have entered into a five-year extension of their partnership that will extend through the 2018 season.

The Rangers and Blue Bell, which have had a partnership since 2011, announced the extension in conjunction with today's designation as National Ice Cream Day.

The deal extends Blue Bell's designation as the official ice cream of the Texas Rangers. The partnership will include radio inventory on the team's broadcasts, hospitality elements, and vending of Blue Bell Ice Cream within Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. That includes the very popular Blue Bell Ice Cream Sundays when youngsters 13 and under can purchase select Blue Bell items for only $1.00 for all Sunday home games.

"The Rangers are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Blue Bell and the good folks who run the creamery," commented Joe Januszewski, Rangers Executive Vice President, Business Partnerships and Development. "We take special pride in doing business with Texas-based companies and Blue Bell has been making premium ice cream in Brenham for over a century. We look forward to many more years of providing our customers at Rangers Ballpark with what we agree is the best ice cream in the country."

"We are thrilled to be a part of the Texas Rangers. The Rangers are a first class organization that continues to do things right," said Blue Bell Regional Manager John Gillespie. "Our association with the Rangers is a natural fit; a great Texas Baseball team, a great ballpark with the best fans. While folks are enjoying a Texas Rangers baseball game, they can enjoy some delicious Blue Bell. We have enjoyed our relationship with the Rangers and look forward to many more years of first class Texas Rangers baseball and Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Originally founded as The Brenham Creamery Company in Brenham, Texas in 1907, ice cream was added to the product line in 1911. The company changed its name to Blue Bell in 1930 after the Texas wildflower. Blue Bell came to Dallas and Fort Worth in 1978 and today is the third best-selling ice cream brand in the United States, although it is only sold in 22 states.
