A's Select IF Adam Rosales from Triple-A Sacramento

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's selected infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A's designated infielder Vinnie Catricala for assignment.

Rosales was batting .200 with four home runs and eight RBI in 48 games with the A's when he was designated for assignment July 8. He cleared waivers and was outrighted to Sacramento July 12. Rosales hit .240 with six RBI in six games with the River Cats following his outright, all at shortstop. He has a .211 average in nine games overall with Sacramento. Rosales began the season on the Oakland disabled list with a strained left intercostal but was reinstated April 25 and hit .318 over his first 13 games. He batted .140 over his final 35 games with the A's.

Catricala was acquired from Seattle for a player to be named later or cash considerations June 9 and was optioned to Double-A Midland. He was batting .291 with one home run and 18 RBI in 33 games with the RockHounds.
