Marlins take on the Pirates, Mets, Indians at Marlins Park

Homestand to feature Fireworks Friday, Saturday Spectacular, Giveaways and more

MIAMI - The Miami Marlins are set to host the Pittsburgh Pirates (July 26 - July 28), followed by the New York Mets (July 29 - August 1) and the Cleveland Indians (August 2 - August 4). The ten game homestand will feature several great promotions, special events and the 2003 World Series Championship 10th Anniversary Celebration.

The homestand begins on Friday, July 26th when the Marlins take on the Pirates at 7:10 p.m. This Friday home game is Fireworks Friday presented by Pepsi, where fans can enjoy a Fireworks Show over Marlins Park from the comfort of their seats immediately after the game. Also on Fridays, fans can purchase the Sir Pizza 4-Pack, which includes four (4) tickets, four (4) personal Sir Pizzas and four (4) Pepsi soft drinks, all for $60 and available on every Friday night home game. 

Saturday, July 27th is game two of the three-game series against the Pirates with a post-game Magic show in the West Plaza featuring internationally acclaimed magician, Michael Grandinetti, presented by The Dependable Toyota Prius in the West Plaza. This Saturday Spectacular will feature pregame entertainment on the West Plaza from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. and an autograph session with a Marlins player inside the New Era Team Store from 6:00 to 6:20 P.M. The All-You-Can-Eat Seats will also be available on Saturday Spectaculars, for just $27 in Vista Reserved or $37 in Legends Silver. Menu items will include unlimited Kayem Beef Franks, Peanuts, Popcorn, Nachos, Pepsi soft drinks, and Aquafina water.

On Family Sunday, July 28th at 1:10 P.M., fans are invited to celebrate Family Sunday. The first 25,000 fans in attendance will receive a Jose Fernandez All-Star Poster, courtesy of Franklin Dodd Communications. It is Nickelodeon Day with Sponge Bob Square Pants at Marlins Park. Sponge Bob will be available to fans for pregame photos on the West Plaza and in-game activities with Billy the Marlin. Pregame fun will feature entertainment with Radio Disney AM 990, DJ Petey and the Marlins Energy Team. During Snapshot Sunday on the Promenade Level outside of Section 28, fans can take photos with a Marlins player from 12 p.m. to 12:20 p.m. Post-game entertainment will include Diamond Dash where all kids 12 and under can run the bases. On all Family Sundays, fans can pick up the Pepsi 4-for-$54 Pack ,which includes four (4) tickets, four (4) Kayem Beef Franks and four (4) Pepsi soft drinks, starting at just $54.

Monday, July 29th at 7:10 p.m. the Marlins kick-off the four-game series against the Mets. As part South Florida Heroes Mondays presented by Outback Steakhouse,  military servicemen and women, veterans, police officers, firefighters and all local first responders with proper I.D. can claim free tickets at Marlins Park north ticket office. Fans can also take advantage of the All You Can Eat Seat Special and can purchase tickets in Legends Gold for $32 or Legends Silver for $22, which includes a ticket and "All You Can Eat" Kayem Beef Franks, Peanuts, Popcorn, Nachos, Pepsi soft drinks, and Aquafina water.

Tuesday, July 30th is game two of the four-game series against the Mets. Fans can take advantage of the Miami Herald Half Price Tuesday offer and get half priced tickets in Legends Silver, Baseline Reserved, Bullpen Reserved and Home Run Porch on any Tuesday home game in 2013. Offer is available online at marlins.com and at the Marlins Park Ticket Office.

Game three of four against the Mets will be on Wednesday, July 31st at 7:10 p.m. and kids 12 and under can eat free on Kids Eat Free Wednesday Nights. Wednesday's are also Chevron "Crazy 8's" when fans can get $8 Home Run Porch tickets or $18 Home Plate Box tickets to any Wednesday home game in 2013 with the purchase of eight (8) gallons of gas or more from any South Florida Chevron station. When filling up with gas, fans can scan the QR at participating Chevron stations to receive a coupon code for specially priced Marlins tickets. The coupon code must be entered when purchasing tickets for any 2013 Wednesday Marlins home games at Marlins.com/Chevron. Fans can also present their receipt at the Marlins Park Box Office to receive specially priced tickets. Limit of eight (8) tickets per transaction.

Thursday, August 1st is the last Camp Day at Marlins Park for the 2013 season. More than 5,000 campers will watch the Marlins conclude the four game series against the Mets at 12:40 p.m. Fans can take advantage of the WellMax Medical Centers Seniors Free Ticket Thursday where all fans 55 years and older can receive complimentary tickets to all Thursday home games, as well as Subway $5 Ticket Offer where fans can visit their local participating Subway location to receive a Marlins voucher valid for one $5 ticket.

The homestand continues on Friday, August 2nd as the Marlins take on the Cleveland Indians at 7:10 p.m. for a three-game series. RBI NIGHT: As a close to the RBI season, we have invited all participants, both past and present of RBI, including players, coaches, and their families to Marlins Park. The teams will be recognized in centerfield and the three regular season champions (Senior, Junior, and Softball Division) will receive their trophy from a Marlins player. In addition we will recognize our Junior Division All Star team that was crowned Southeast Regional Champions and will head to Minnesota for the RBI World Series August 3rd-9th.

 

Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth program offering children ages 13-18, who live in disadvantaged areas, the opportunity to participate in organized baseball. This program is designed to promote interest in baseball, academic achievement and social responsibility in underserved and disadvantaged areas of South Florida. The Marlins supply the uniforms, umpires and equipment for more than 400 children. All participants enjoy a fun and competitive summer league, clinics hosted by Marlins players and alumni, recognition on the field and an invitation to RBI Night, and the opportunity to be selected for the RBI All Star team that competes in the Southeast Regional Tournament.

 

STATE FARM "PITCH IN" AWARD PRESENTED TO REVIVING BASEBALL IN INNER CITIES: Prior to the Saturday, July 27th, Marlins vs. Pirates game, the Marlins and State Farm will recognize Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities for their commitment and support to the local community. BASEBALL TOMORROW FUND EQUIPMENT DRIVE: Rob Brantly along with teammate Nathan Eovaldi, are the spokespersons for the Marlins and Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive that is held prior to the game on Sunday July 28th. They encourage fans to donate new and lightly used baseball and softball equipment that benefits RBI and other local teams in underserved communities in South Florida. Brantly and Eovaldi also hold a clubhouse collection having every one of his teammates contribute by collecting baseballs, gloves, bats, cleats, turfs, etc.

Fans who donate equipment will receive an autographed player card from either Eovaldi or Brantly.

BLOOD CLOT AWARENESS DAY: Blood clots cause an average of sixteen deaths a day in Florida but can be prevented simply by knowing the risks, signs and symptoms of a blood clot. The Marlins have teamed up with the National Blood Clot Alliance for this inaugural awareness event. Your Special Events ticket package includes a ticket to the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and proceeds from each special ticket purchased will be donated to the N.B.C.A. Savannah's Soldiers is a letter writing campaign started by grade school student Savannah Madison. They collect letters from kids across America and continue to send them to brave men and woman all year long until they all come home.

HERALD SPOTLIGHT: The Miami Marlins and The Miami Herald are co-sponsoring the Team Player spotlight on Sunday's Youth Sports pages in Neighbors and The Miami Herald online.

 

Youth league coaches, team representatives, teachers or family members can nominate any youth league (recreational or travel), middle school or junior varsity baseball or softball player (from any season) who displays sportsmanship and good grades or shows improvement in the classroom. Selected Team Players will receive a certificate of achievement and a Miami Marlins item and will be invited to a Marlins game to be recognized on the field.

CARS2GO: Cars2Go gives people the flexibility to drive as much or as little as they want throughout the city. Customers will always find a Car2Go around the corner and never have to worry about parking. On July 31st , Cars2Go will have a promotional table set up on the Home Plate Landing from gates opening until end of the 7th inning. They will have giveaways and be handing out information about their services.

 

KIDS EAT FREE WEDNESDAY NIGHTS: All kids 12 and under can eat free on Wednesday night home games in 2013. Promotion is valid for all seating categories in the ballpark. BREAKTHROUGH MIAMI CHARITY PARTNER DAY: The Miami Marlins named four local nonprofit organizations as Charity Partners for their 2013 Season. During the season each charity will host a day at the ballpark, where they will share their all of their great work they are doing South Florida community. 2003 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP 10th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Marlins' 2003 World Series Championship, several former players and coaches from that team will be honored on the field pregame, along with highlights and audio from the 2003 season. All participants will wear a Marlins 10th Anniversary polo. During the game at Sec. 28 on the Promenade Level, the 10th Anniversary participants will sign autographs for fans.
