Royals-Red Sox sets new ratings record
Thursday's Royals win over Boston was the highest-rated Royals game ever on FOX Sports Kansas City, shattering the previous record set Monday.
Thursday's game averaged an 11.4 household rating in the Kansas City market, according to The Nielsen Co. It peaked at a 13.8 rating (128,000 households).
The Royals game - their 16th win in 20 games since the All-Star break - was the most-watched TV program Thursday in Kansas City. And FOX Sports Kansas City (11.4) was the top-rated channel in prime time, more than doubling the prime time rating of second-place finisher KCTV-CBS (5.2).
Royals telecasts on FOX Sports Kansas City are averaging a 6.2 rating in 2013, up 60 percent over last season.
