Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox Complete Alex Rios Trade

INF Leury Garcia sent to Chicago as player-to-be-named

Houston, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced today that the club has sent INF Leury Garcia to the Chicago White Sox to complete Friday's trade for OF Alex Rios.

Garcia, 22, was a member of the Rangers Opening Day roster, batting .192 (10-52) with a triple, RBI, and 8 runs in 25 games with the Rangers. He was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on June 15 and has spent the balance of the season with the Express, hitting .264 with 8 doubles, 4 triples, 4 home runs, 19 RBI, 31 runs, and 12 stolen bases in 47 games.

Texas had acquired Rios and cash considerations from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations on Friday.

The club's 40-man roster currently stands at 39.
