D-backs recall Campana from Reno; option Skaggs to Reno

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) recalled outfielder Tony Campana (@Tcampana_24) from Triple-A Reno and optioned left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs (@TylerSkaggs37) to Reno, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Campana, 27, was hitting .292 (101-for-346) with 11 doubles, 6 triples, 1 home run, 29 RBI and 32 stolen bases in 101 games with the Aces in 2013. Campana, who ranks second in the Pacific Coast League in stolen bases, has appeared in 2 games with the D-backs this season, going 3-for-10 (.300) with 2 stolen bases.

Since 2011, the Kettering, Ohio native ranks second in the Major Leagues with a 90.3 stolen-base percentage (min. 30 attempts, trailing Chase Utley (91.4) and ahead of Mike Trout (89.8) and Alexi Casilla (87.8). Campana was acquired from the Cubs on Feb. 18 for Minor League right-handed pitchers Erick Leal and Jesus Castillo. 

Skaggs, 22, has combined to go 6-7 with a 4.16 ERA (41 ER in 88.2 IP) in 16 games (14 starts) with Single-A Visalia and Reno in 2013. In 7 starts with Arizona this season, he is 2-3 with a 5.35 ERA (23 ER in 38.2 IP).
