Cardinals activate Yadier Molina and Shane Robinson

Tony Cruz placed on 15-day DL and Jermaine Curtis optioned to Memphis (AAA)

ST. LOUIS, MO., August 15, 2013 - The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have activated All-Star catcher Yadier Molina (right knee sprain) and outfielder Shane Robinson (right shoulder strain) from the 15-day disabled list for this afternoon's series finale with Pittsburgh.

The team also announced that catcher Tony Cruz (stress fracture of left forearm) has been placed on the 15-day D.L. and that infielder Jermaine Curtis was optioned to Memphis (AAA) following last night's game.

Molina is currently ranked 2nd in the National League in batting (.330), including a .383 mark with runners in scoring position. Robinson, who appeared in three games for Springfield (AA) during an injury rehabilitation assignment last week, was batting .263 in 65 games at the time of his injury. Both Molina and Robinson were placed on the disabled list July 31.

Cruz started at catcher in 11 of the team's 14 games during Molina's absence and is batting .212 with one homer and 11 RBI in his 41 games played this season.
